QUALITY STANDARS

Nutrition is a fundamental and indispensable need throughout life. Humans need to consume a certain amount of food every day according to their age, living conditions and health. Food provides proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals required for a healthy living. Hence, quality food is an indispensable part of life. For that reason, many countries have legislated on food quality standards, turning them into “Public Policies”. Similarly, Turkey, in an effort to standardize food production, has made quality standards an indispensable part of its food legislation by achieving harmonization with the European Union regulations since 1996. These quality standards apply to all food manufacturers, who are audited by the state for conformity. In addition to those mandated by the state, manufacturers have also adopted the following quality standards.
